Some of you may be familiar with the new trend of purchasing a car ONLINE! That’s right, we can now order a car directly on line and pick it up at a designated center. A company operating out of Arizona called, Carvana.com allows you to view, order, pay for and even finance the purchase all on line. HOWEVER……..before you rush on out to take advantage of this new opportunity, Let us remind all you Massachusetts residents of how our state works.
Massachusetts vs. The Rest of The World
For decades, an organization AIB (Automobile Insurers Bureau) has written a personal auto policy specifically for our state. Prior to the current competitive market all carriers were required to use the MAP (Massachusetts Automobile Policy) as written by AIB. In today’s competitive market a carrier doesn’t have to use this policy, but old habits die hard and most insurance companies writing auto in Massachusetts still use the MAP.
What does this mean?
In a nut shell, without getting into the nitty gritty of the complicated explanation of how our auto policy in Massachusetts and RMV work. It may mean that you will have no coverage for this transaction. Carvana requires confirmation of coverage before they can complete the transaction and the Insurance Company needs the transaction completed before they will provide the coverage!
Messy?…………………Yes!
Is there a way around this situation?
Possibly, but you want to find out before you start the process. Make sure to review the situation with your agent before entering any contract of purchase. We will help you navigate through.

Imagine for a moment if you were injured on the weekend doing something stupid and couldn’t go to work and you were the sole bread winner, WHAT WOULD BE YOUR PLAN?

The thought of purchasing life insurance for a child can create an uncomfortable feeling. No one wants to think about such devastation, however, a life insurance policy can also be utilized to help build up cash value that can be accessed in the future. You can help your child pay of education debt, help pay for a wedding or even their first home.
There is no clear answer if purchasing a life insurance policy for your child is right for you but educate yourself to make the best possible decision on behalf of your children. A few things to consider;
- If your child develops a chronic disease, it could leave them ineligible later in life to purchase a policy when they need it the most. If you purchase a policy with a cash value feature you can borrow money from your policy when it is needed.
If you’re considering a savings account for your child why not a permanent life insurance policy (cash value). You can access it at any time after the initial three to five years, with no tax implications.

WHO I am and WHY I do what I do….
I would say that I am an insurance agent, and business owner, but, I feel that I am so much more than that. Like many of you, I’m a parent, a family member, and a friend. I work at balancing home and work life and am happy to report that most of the time, feel like I’m rocking it!
I purchased The Insurance Agency of Cape Cod Inc. in 2006. I wanted to encompass my talents with a desire to provide the best possible customer service at my own agency. I wanted to create something that separated my agency from the rest. I feel that I have done this. How, you may ask? I have created an environment that is both large enough to offer the insurance products that any customer may need but with the feel and warmth of on office that is small enough to know who you are.
We have a family atmosphere that allows our customers the comfort of knowing we are just a phone call away and that we will be there for them when they need us!
